The goal
PROPHAX (Profile Extrusion of PHA-X) aims to demonstrate the technical feasibility and applicability of PHA-X in profile-extruded products, specifically prefabricated vertical drains (PVDs) used in construction projects. The project will develop and optimize PHA-X-based materials for profile extrusion and validate them through pilot-scale production and field testing, supporting the replacement of persistent fossil-based plastics with biobased and biodegradable alternatives.
Our role
Paques Biomaterials is developing, producing and pretreating different PHA-X materials from residual feedstocks and supplying these materials for further development and testing within the project. The project helps PBM expand the application potential of PHA-X and supports the future commercialization of this material.
